Major Achievements -

In December 2006 we implemented a healthy eating programme where the children receive an extra serving of fruit or vegetables four times a week, and a serving of fish once a week. This has given them a significant boost to their diet and they are generally more healthy as a result. Money raised continues to fund this important project.

In December 2006 we started the funding of mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks for three little ones on anti-retroviral medication for HIV. The drugs work best if the children have a good diet, and these snacks provide them with a twice daily energy boost and these children have blossomed. One little boy aged 4, who was a tiny child wearing clothes for an 18 month old has put on a stone in weight in the last six months. We have now extended this programme to include all 10 pre-school children because they were not gaining as much weight as they should. This was extended two months ago, and staff say they are doing well. Money raised continues to fund this important project.
